Lao Cai (VNA) – A workshop was held in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on June 23 to intensify communication calling for people to🐟 stop using products from endangered and rare animals and plants.

The event was jointly organised by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and TRAFFIC, the global wildlife trade monitoring network. It attracted the participation of the commission staff, scientists and managers of nature conservation centres in 29 northern cities and provinces.
Delegates contributed their ideas to preserving bio-diversity, while sharing experience in protecting wild animals and reducing demands of wildlife products.
The commission’s deputy head Bui The Duc stressed the importance of strictly punishing illegal behaviours, and fostering communication to raise public awareness of the role of bio-diversity in the nation’s sustainable development. TRAFFIC experts also shared experience in conserving endangered animals and plants in Vietnam and the world.-VNA
