A regional workshop to share experience in harmonising culture, environmental and economic development for mountainous and ethnic minority areas was held in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on September 18.

Thai Nguyen (VNA) – ꦇAregional workshop to share experience in harmonising culture, environmental andeconomic development for mountainous and ethnic minority areas was held in thenorthern province of Thai Nguyen on September 18.

The workshop drew participation ofrepresentatives from ministries and departments of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia,Myanmar and Thailand.

Participants discussed relations betweenethnic minority people and forest resources and employment of ethnic peopleamid intensive regional integration, thus proposing practical cooperation amongcountries to support them.

💟 Countries’ experience in building policies to provide jobs for ethnic people,especially women, was also shared at the event.

Regional countries were advised to reviewand integrate policies and be transparent in assigning tasks for localities inenforcing policies. Besides, local authorities should be more active increating chances for ethnic people to escape poverty and improve livingstandards with their own abilities. Participants also noted that countriesshould give priority to infrastructure, human resources development, vocationaltraining and sustainable poverty alleviation. In addition, more attention should be paid to investment in ethnicminority areas, along with social welfare and insurance.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
