- Party General Secretary To🥀 Lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, had a working session with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) in Hanoi on July 23, during which he highligh🎉ted the importance of promoting efforts and measures to build a politically strong military deeply rooted in its bonds with the people.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 23 chaired the monthly Government law-making session to review and give feedback on eight legislation matters, including seven draft laws and the Government's legislative agenda for 2026.

In his opening remarks, PM Chinh affirmed that the Government, ministries, and sectors have carried out this work actively and effectively, and the Government has also closely and efficiently coordinated with the National Assembly in developing and improving the legal framework. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged the central province of Nghe An to carry out necessary measures to respond to flooding, ensure the safety of local residents and critical infrastructure, particularly Ban Ve hydropower dam, given an alarming flood inflow into the Ban Ve hydropower reservoir.

The official dispatch dated July 22, sent to the Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee, and the ministers of some relevant ministries, cited the Director of the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting that the circulation of tropical storm Wipha has caused extremely heavy rainfall in the western mountainous part of Nghe An, and downpours are forecast continue in the upper reaches of Ca River in the territory of Laos. - State President Luong Cuong on July 23 affirmed that implementing policies for those with merit to the nation are a long-term, regular task of the entire political system and the whole society, and that these policies will continue to be improved with the mobilisation of all social resources to ensure better implementation.

During his visit to the Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Centre in Ninh Binh province on the occasion of the 78th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025), President Cuong emphasised that generations of Vietnamese people have always remembered and understood the value of today’s peace. - Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction has proposed the creation of a National Housing Fund, with initial capital of 5-10 trillion VND (200-400 million USD), aimed at boosting social housing supply for low-income groups.

Under a draft decree, the fund will operate at two levels, including a central fund managed by the ministry and local funds overseen by provincial governments. Both will have independent legal status and be allowed to manage finances through the State Treasury or commercial banks. Read full story

- The Vietnam Electricity’s Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has announced that it had restored el🏅ect🀅ricity to over 2 million customers, accounting for nearly 90% of those affected by Tropical Storm Wipha, as of 7pm on July 22.

Additionally, 36 out of 44 drainage pumping stations had gained access to electricity, contributing significantly to the removal of floodwaters in heavily inundated areas following the storm. Read full story

- Vietnam's economy is expected to maintain its resilience through 2025 and 2026, although growth may slow in the near term due to tariff pressure, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
