Cambodia, China strengthens military ties

Cambodia and China armies on December 15 commenced a joint military drill at the Cambodian Royal Army Institute in Kampong Speu province.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia and China armies on December 15commenced a joint military drill at the Cambodian Royal Army Institute in KampongSpeu province.

The nine-day drill, titled “Golden Dragon 2016”, brought together a total of377 personnel, including 97 troops from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA)and 280 from the Cambodian Royal Armed Forces.

The exercise aims to exchange experiences on disaster relief, humanitarian aidand counter-terrorism, thus consolidating and boosting relations between thetwo countries’ armies.

China is Cambodia’s largest provider of military aid.-VNA
