Conference connects Hai Duong’s health sector with RoK partners

An online conference to connect the health sector of the northern province of Hai Duong with hospitals in the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held by the provincial People’s Committee and the V-Health Social Enterprise for Health Co. on December 17.

Hai Duong (VNA) - An online conference to connect the healthsector of the northern province of Hai Duong with hospitals in the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held by the provincial People’s Committee and the V-Health Social Enterprisefor Health Co. on December 17.

In attendance were representatives from the Hai Duong General Hospital, theHai Duong Lung Hospital, and the Hai Duong Obstetrics Hospital, together with thosefrom leading RoK hospitals such as the Seoul National University Hospital, the Catholic University of Korea St. Mary’s Hospital, the Korea University Anam Hospital, and the Ewha Women’s University Medical Center.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Luong Van Cau said the conferenceis a good opportunity to promote health care cooperation between Hai Duong and medicalestablishments in the RoK.

It also offers a chance for doctors and medical staff in Hai Duong to learnfrom the experience of the RoK in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases, thusimproving their expertise, he added.

He hopes the conference enabled scientists and medical experts from the RoK to understandmore about the province’s health system.

Hai Duong is now an attractive destination for foreign investors in general andthose from the RoK in particular.

The country has invested in 185 projects in the province with total registeredcapital of over 1.2 billion USD, accounting for 14.3 percent of all FDI in Hai Duongand ranking its third among all foreign investors in the province.

Cau expressed his hope that the RoK would continue to invest in Hai Duong, especiallyin the medical field.

Soo Hun William Kyung, Chairman and Co-founder of the V-Health Social Enterprisefor Health Co., said the company currently connects, organises, and operates thedeployment of remote consultation and examination systems with experts from leadingRoK hospitals and also holds experience exchange activities in training, research,and medical examination and treatment between RoK and Vietnamese hospitals.

At the conference, representatives from RoK hospitals introduced modern medicaltechnologies and techniques, treatment capability, and medical procedures such ashematopoietic transplantation, robotic surgery for uterine fibroids, treatment ofblood-related diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular intervention surgery, and surgery for pectus excavatum and artificial lens replacement.

The two sides also proposed forms of cooperation in the field./.
