TuyenQuang (VNA) – 🦋The northern province of Tuyen Quang on January 30reviewed the implementation of the Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas SupportProject (TNSP) in the province in 2011-2017.

Theproject, funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD),was implemented in 64 poor communes of six districts of Tuyen Quang. It aims toenhance institutional capacity building, promote chain value development forpoor people and devise plan for sustainable socio-economic development atcommune-level. Aftersix years, the project has completed disbursement of IFAD credit and obtainedall main objectives in its logical framework. The province’s agricultural GDPstood at 4.6 percent per year, exceeding the target of 4 percent. Theproject also helped raise local farmers’ income, as the rate of poor householdsin 64 communes dropped by 41.6 percent, from 61.7 percent in 2011 to 20.1percent in 2016, and the rate of child malnutrition declined by 11.5 percent. Inaddition, it launched more than 900 constructions of agriculturalinfrastructure, benefitting nearly 58,400 families, and provided support tobuild farming facilities and purchase agricultural machinery, among others.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
