Forum on agricultural product consumption to be held for first time
A forum on agricultural production and consumption promotion will be held in Hanoi for the first time, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Hanoi (VNA) – A forum on agricultural production and consumptionpromotion will be held in Hanoi for the first time, according to the Ministryof Agriculture and Rural Development.
The forum will review Vietnam’s agricultural production, including farm produceprocessing and consumption, and discuss solutions to boost and expand thecountry’s farm produce market and raise Vietnamese agricultural products’competitiveness, thereby attracting international organisations and businessesto invest in agriculture.
It is also a chance for producers to connect with localities, professionalassociations, enterprises and investors in processing and consumingagricultural products.
The forum will be held annually, Nguyen Quoc Toan, Acting Director of the ministry’sDepartment of Agro-product Processing and Market Development, said at a pressconference in Hanoi on January 22.
This year’s event will take place in Hanoi on February 22 with theparticipation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s representatives who willpresent the role of counsellors in bringing agricultural products to foreignmarkets, he added.
Information on developing brand names for Vietnam’s farm produce will beprovided by the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at the forum alongwith presentations on building infrastructure to improve the country’s agriculturalproducts’ competitiveness by foreign experts.
Groups like Vingroup, Massan, Aeon and Big C are expected to attend the forumto discuss measures to boost consumption of agricultural products.-VNA
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the agriculture sector to switch from the mindset of agricultural production to an agricultural economy and international integration in order to create a revolution in the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
