Paris (VNA) – French President Emmanuel Macron on November 2affirmed the special position of Vietnam in his country’s policies.

Welcoming Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thangwho came to present his letter of credentials, Macron spokehighly of achievements in bilateral cooperation in all fields from politics, diplomacy,trade, and investment to education, training, culture, and science andtechnology, especially after the two countries set up their strategicpartnership.

He expressed his delight at the official visit to Francefrom November 3-5 by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, during which he will have a meeting with Chinh.

Ambassador Thang, for his part, affirmed Vietnam always attachesimportance to and hopes to intensify its Strategic Partnership with France –one of its leading partners in numerous fields.

He pledged to do his utmost to nurture the time-honouredrelations between the two nations, contributing to boosting the bilateralfriendship towards the celebration of the 50th anniversary ofestablishment of diplomatic ties, and the 10th anniversary ofestablishment of bilateral strategic partnership in 2023.

The ambassador showed his belief that PM Chinh’s visit and bilateral meetings of the two sides’senior leaders will continue creating a framework and long-term vision for theVietnam-France relationship, and serving as a foundation to make it growfurther./.
