Hanoi: Back to school goes under pandemic prevention measures

High school seniors in Hanoi returned to their classrooms on December 6 after months of school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi (VNA) – High school seniors in Hanoireturned to their classrooms on December 6 after months of school closure dueto the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only 50 percent of normal school attendance has been allowedto reduce the risk of infections, so students will spend alternate daysattending classes in person and online.

On the first day of reopening, local schools haveseriously observed the Health Ministry of Health’s “5K message” - khau trang(facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (nogathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration).

At Cau Giay High School in Cau Giay district, automatictemperature screening and disinfection machines have been set up. All staffmembers have also been mobilised to supervise students’ observance of COVID-19prevention and control measures.

According to Le Thi Thanh Hong, Principal of theschool, the students who are under COVID-19 quarantine will continue to attendonline classes.

The principal of Yen Hoa High School in Cau Giay said teachershad reminded students and parents about pandemic prevention and controlregulations before school reopening.

Meanwhile, many students have expressed theirexcitement to come back to school. They have also voluntarily worn masks, checkedtheir body temperature and disinfected their hands with sanitizers.

On December 6, a delegation of the municipalDepartment of Education and Training led by Director Tran The Cuong made afield trip to Viet Duc High School in Hoan Kiem district.

The department is scheduled to consult the city People’sCommittee to allow students of secondary high schools to return to theirclassrooms under a set roadmap after one week./.
