Hanoi music gala marks finale of ‘Be proud of Vietnam’ journey
Launched in Ho Chi Minh City on August 19, “Be proud of Vietnam” was more than a series of concerts, it was a journey of memory and aspiration, with stops in Da Nang, Hue, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Phu Tho, and other historic localities. Hanoi (VNA)🌠 – The music journey “Tu hao Viet Nam” (Be proud of Vietnam) came to a close on the evening of September 2 with a spectacular gala at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in Hanoi, leaving a lasting impression on the public.
Serving as the symbolic final stop, the event drew more than 10,000 spectators to the heart of the capital. The gala featured artists across generations, delivering fresh and diverse performances. Young composer group DTAP, considered the creative driving force of the journey, stood out for seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary elements, creating an inspiring and engaging musical atmosphere.
The climax arrived when all artists and thousands of spectators sang together in the closing song, turning the square into a “sea of red flags with yellow stars.” A fireworks display over Hoan Kiem Lake capped the programme, underscoring the spirit of the National Day and celebrating 80 years of national pride.

The programme was a highlight of the multi-platform communication campaign of the same name, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. Beyond the live journey, the campaign resonated strongly online, with over 185,000 TikTok posts generating 4.6 billion views and nearly 356,000 Facebook posts reaching an estimated 5 billion engagements under the hashtag #TuhaoVietNam. The theme song “Nha toi co treo mot la co” (A national flag hangs in my home) and the Made in Vietnam album also attracted hundreds of millions of views, becoming the musical symbol of the journey./.
High-altitude fireworks at five locations across Hanoi sparked roars of applause and cheers from adults and children alike whose voices reverberated across streets as Hanoians joined people nationwide in celebrating the 80th National Day anniversary.
Hanoi received around 2.08 million visitors during the four-day National Day holidays from August 30 to September 2, three times higher than the figure in the same period last year, the municipal Department of Tourism reported.
The parade celebrating Vietnam’s 80th National Day was not only a display of military strength but also a heroic testament to the nation’s journey of national construction and defence through countless challenges.
Vietnam welcomes some 4-5 million Chinese visitors annually. In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam hosted more than 3.5 million Chinese. Vietnamese travellers, meanwhile, are increasingly drawn to China’s cultural and natural attractions.
On the evening of September 15 (local time), Algerian audiences enjoyed the Vietnamese film “Dao, Pho va Piano” (Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano). Vietnam was invited as the guest of honour at this year’s festival. In addition to the feature film, the country also introduced the documentary “Dien Bien: Land and People” and another featuring the 1954 Dien Bien Phu Victory for competition at the event.
Divided into three chapters with dozens of meticulously staged performances, the programme created a vibrant and emotionally rich atmosphere. The blend of tradition and modernity, powerful voices, and the solemn resonance of the symphony orchestra gave the show its distinctive hallmark.
The photo collection, which features typical landmarks and landscapes as well as the culture and lifestyle of Da Nang people, aims to introduce the image of Vietnam's central city to Korean friends.
Held on September 13-14, ManiFiesta – the annual festival of solidarity organised by the Workers' Party of Belgium – drew tens of thousands of participants from across Belgium and neighbouring countries.
