Hanoi (VNA) – The Indian Embassyin Vietnam held a banquet to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of theSouth Asian country’s Independence Day in Hanoi on August 15.
Speaking at the event, Indian Ambassador toVietnam Pranay Verma reviewed his country’s history of struggle forindependence and national construction as well as the Vietnam – Indiafriendship.
The diplomat said Vietnam is an importantpartner in India’s Act East policy.
He wished Vietnam success as ASEAN Chair for2020 and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021tenure.
Attending the banquet, Vietnamese DeputyForeign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed his delight at the growth of Vietnam-Indiaties in politics, defence-security, economy-trade, technology, culture andpeople-to-people exchange.
He hoped the two nations will continuesharing common stances on peacekeeping, stability, cooperation and developmentin the region, adding that he believes in a bright future for the bilateralfriendship.-VNA
Vietnam and India have seen profound and comprehensive development in a wide range of fields, from politics, diplomacy, economics and trade to culture, science, education and defence, at bilateral, regional and international levels.

Highlighting the transformative potential of the draft law in revitalising Vietnam’s railway industry, Hoang Van Cuong, a deputy of Hanoi, expressed his support for Article 39, which empowers the Prime Minister to issue a list of railway-related goods and services to be assigned or ordered from domestic enterprises for production.
