Japanese, Quang Ninh Red Cross volunteers plant mangrove forest
Red Cross volunteers of the Japanese prefecture of Kyushu and their counterparts from the northern province of Quang Ninh began planting mangrove forest in Song Khoai commune, Quang Yen township.

They planted 400 mangrove crabapple trees in a mud ground inthe commune.
The event aimed to raise public awareness of the role ofmangrove forest ecological system, thereby urging their efforts in restoringand planting mangrove forests to contribute to mitigating harmful impacts onthe environment.
On the occasion, the Japanese voluntary youths visited andpresented gifts to poor students with outstanding academic results at SongKhoai junior high school.-VNA
The central province of Thua Thien- Hue will spend 2 billion VND (91,000 USD) planting 4.6 hectares of mangrove forest with 10,000 varieties in Ru Xa forest in response to climate change.
The forest ranger department in the central coastal province of Thua Thien – Hue is set to expand mangrove forests along the Tam Giang lagoon aligning with eco-tourism development.
