Hanoi (VNA) - Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 27 for a visiting deleg🤪ation from Japan’s Self Defence Force.

According to the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) newspaper, the delegation, led by Major General Takayuki Onozuka, director general of the Defense Plans and Policy Department of Japan's Joint Staff, is on a visit in the framework of the fourth Vietnam-Japan defence exchange.
At the reception, Sen. Lt. Gen. Tuan applauded the outcomes of friendship exchanges between the delegation and several VPA units. He said the visit serves as a symbol of the friendship between the two countries’ armed forces.
The Vietnamese general expressed his hope that the two sides will undertake more specific and practical cooperation in the fields of Japan’s strength such as peacekeeping training. For his part, Takayuki Onozuka thanked the Vietnamese defence ministry and military units for the warm welcome, expressing his hope that the defence cooperation between the two countries will be strengthened in the coming time.
