Laos steps up AI application in education development

The Lao Ministry of Education and Sports reported that the programme aims to equip teachers with practical skills and strategies for using AI. This will enable schools to innovate teaching methods and strengthen their capacity to support students amid the continuously evolving educational landscape.

Hanoi (VNA) – A symposium highlighting practical applications♒ of artificial intelligence (AI) in education was h♛eld in Laos on June 30, aiming to enhance awareness of AI among principals and teachers from private schools nationwide.

Hosted by the Association of Private Education (APE), the event attracted 120 participants, including entrepreneurs, education administrators, principals, and teachers from Vientiane and the provinces of Xieng Khouang, Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, and Bolikhamxay.
The Lao Ministry of Education and Sports reported that the programme aims to equip teachers with practical skills and strategies for using AI. This will enable schools to innovate teaching methods and strengthen their capacity to support students amid the continuously evolving educational landscape. Speaking at the event, APE President Khamsen Sisavong emphasised the importance of training programmes in integrating AI into education to better teaching and learning quality at private schools across Laos. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on AI applications in individual subjects, towards boosting teaching efficiency and effectiveness, especially in helping students conduct research and analyse information, and gather data in the digital era today./.
