Nghe An (VNA) – A green sea turtlewas released back into the ocean on June 8 in Cua Hoi sea in Cua Lo town of thecentral province of Nghe An.
The reptile, weighing 10kg, was discovered bya local man one day earlier. It is reported to be in good health with no injury.
After concluding that the turtle is listedin the red list of threatened species of the InternationalUnion for Conservation of Nature and Vietnam, relevant agencies and localauthorities worked together to promptly release the animal to the sea.
This is the first time thata green sea turtle has been discovered at Cua Hoi fishing port.

Con Dao National Park actually started protecting sea turtles in 1991. Statistics from the park show that about 750,000 baby turtles have been released into the sea in the past five years.
