Seventy-three organisations and agencies in Hanoi donated more than 12 billion VND (over half a million USD) to the Fund for Vietnam’s Sea and Islands on March 19.

Hanoi (VNA) –Seventy-three organisations and agencies in Hanoi donated more than 12 billionVND (over half a million USD) to the Fund for Vietnam’s Sea and Islands onMarch 19.

The donations werecollected at the launching ceremony for this year’s first donation drive tocollect money for the Fund, held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)committee of Hanoi.  

Vice Chairman of theVFF committee of Hanoi Nguyen Sy Truong said the warm response to the drivedemonstrates that the country’s sea and islands are always in the hearts ofHanoi people.

The fundraising driveaims at raising funds to help build a multi-functional cultural house on ThuyenChai A Island in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and organize a number ofactivities to promote the country’s sea and islands.

The drive will last until April15./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
