PM hands over appointment decisions to leaders of key ministries, institutions

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the appointees' qualifications and contributions, and expressed his hope that they will promote their abilities, make concerted efforts, and overcome challenges to excellently complete the missions entrusted by the Party, State and people.

Hanoi (VNA) - 𒊎Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 4 presided over a ceremony to present decisions on appointment, transfer, and reception of leaders across eight ministries and institutions.

The appointees include leaders at the Ministries of Health, Justice, Science and Technology, and Education and Training, the Government Inspectorate, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. PM Chinh presented the Politburo's decision designating Le Hoai Trung to join the Government’s Party Committee and its Standing Board for the 2020-2025 term. Earlier, the Prime Minister issued a decision admitting Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the committee’s office, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he will serve as acting minister. Le Van Loi, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, became President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, while Vu Manh Ha, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau provincial Party Committee, was appointed Standing Deputy Minister of Health.
Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, was named Deputy Minister of Justice, and Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, became Standing Deputy Inspector-General of the Government Inspectorate. Additionally, Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, was appointed Chairman of the Council and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong provincial Party Committee will serve as Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. Vu Hai Quan, member of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam National University, HCM City, became Standing Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, while Le Quan, Chairman of the Council and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Training. At the event, PM Chinh praised the new leaders’ qualifications and contributions, noting that their appointments reflected both their personal merit and the trust of the Party and State. He expressed his hope that they will promote their abilities, make concerted efforts, and overcome challenges to excellently complete the missions entrusted by the Party, State and people.
With global and regional challenges intensifying, he called for a spirit of innovation, drastic actions, and swift response to the situation, laying stress on the need for strict adherence to Party guidelines and State policies and building of strong Party organisations, with focus on effective implementation of the Party, National Assembly, and Government’s resolutions and conclusions on investment, sci-tech research, education and training, and public health care. Particular attention must be directed towards building a pool of officials and civil servants who demonstrate political steadfastness, professional expertise, operational excellence, and work efficiency, he underscored. On behalf of the appointees, Nguyen Van Quang expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them, pledging to uphold the highest sense of responsibility and contribute to the country’s development./.
