At aworkshop on cooperation in tourism development last week,Hamada-Kazuki, Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan , spoke of thegreat number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam annually, but raisedthe fact that the number of those returning to the country is still low.

Officials from the provincial Department ofCulture, Sports and Tourism proposed the early establishment of amechanism for both sides to promptly exchange tourist information and setup joint plans for cooperation and implementation.

They expressed their hopes to receive assistance in setting up a tourismrepresentative office in Japan as well as cooperation to promotetourism and develop tourism products.-VNA
