Reference exchange rate goes up on October 12

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 12, setting the rate at 22,721 VND/USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day (October 11).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 12, setting the rate at 22,721 VND/USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day (October 11).

 With the current trading band of +/- 3percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,402VND/USD and the floor rate 22,040 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates atcommercial banks saw only slight changes compared to October 11.

Vietcombank added 5 VND to bothrates, listing the buying rate at 23,305 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,385VND/USD.

BIDV kept both rates unchangedat 23,300 VND/USD (buying) and 23,380 VND/USD (selling).

Techcombank also maintained thesame rates as on October 11, buying the green back at 23,280 VND/USD andselling at 23,380 VND/USD.

 The reference exchange rate rose on the first two days of this weekbeginning October 8, then went down for two consecutive days before risingagain on the last day of the week.-VNA
