Jakarta (VNA) – The Republic of Korea (RoK) authorities arrested three Indonesian migrant workers who were suspected to have links with the Islamic Sta🌄te (IS), said Nusron Wahid, head of the Indonesian Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers Overseas, on January 27.

Two of them have been repatriated while the other was still being held by the RoK authorities.
The arrestees were suspected of linking with the terrorist network through Facebook, Wahid said, adding that the contents of their Facebook accounts were connected to the IS teachings and detected by the RoK’s early warning system. Wahid revealed that there are some Indonesians who had links with the IS and then joined radical groups.
He said there is a possibility that more Indonesian migrant workers could be involved in such activities and the number of such suspects could rise. It requires the Indonesian Government to further monitor the activities of migrant workers abroad, he noted.-VNA
