Hanoi (VNA) – Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Nganleft Hanoi on March 27 morning to pay official visits to Morocco and France, anda working visit to the European Parliament.

The NA Chairwoman will also attend the140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related meetings inDoha, Qatar, during the trip, which will last from March 28 to April 8.

Ngan will be guest of President of the MoroccanHouse of Representatives Habib El Malki, President of France’s Lower House ofParliament Richard Ferrand, European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, IPUPresident Gabriela Cuevas Barron, and Chairman of Consultative Assembly ofQatar Ahmad Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud,

This is the first visit by a Vietnamese NAchairperson to France after 11 years and to Morocco after 14 years. It is also thefirst working visit to the EP by a Vietnamese top legislator after 8 years.

The visits have great significance for Vietnam’sstrategic partnership with France, its multifaceted cooperation with Morocco,and lay a new hallmark in the friendship and collaboration between theVietnamese National Assembly and the two countries’ parliaments.

Meanwhile, the top legislator’s workingvisit to the EP aims at discussing parliamentary cooperation between Vietnamand EU member states and the EP, boosting the ASEAN-EU relations, and exchangedviews on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Her presence at the 140th IPU Assembly andrelated meetings in Doha will again affirm Vietnam’s commitment to activelyparticipating in multilateral diplomatic activities, while demonstrating itsactive role in solving regional and global challenges.
Ngan will work to deepenthe NA’s relations with partners through sidelines meetings, and promote therole and position of the Vietnamese NA in the IPU as the IPU Vice Chair in the2018-2019 tenure.-VNA
