The institute said on October 16 that a quake with a magnitude of 3.1 occurred in Tay Giang District at 8:21 am on October 15 (local time).
Just 11 minutes later, a 3.4 quake struck Phuoc Son District.
The epicentre of both the quakes lay about 10-11 km under the ground.
Experts at the institute’s Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre are monitoring the seismic conditions in the area.
There have yet any report on damage caused by the quakes.-VNA
