Vietnam, Cambodia foreign ministries convene political consultation

The fifth political consultation between the foreign ministries of Vietnam and Cambodia was held in Hanoi on May 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Foreign Minister 🌠Vu Hong Nam and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Ung Sean co-chaired t⛄he fifth political consultation between the two foreign ministries in Hanoi on May 5.

The two sides updated their country’s respective situations and discussed regional and international issues of shared concern.
They agreed to organise the sixth event in Cambodia in a convenient time.  Later, the Cambodian official paid a courtesy call to Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, who expressed his delight with the growing bilateral cooperation and hoped it will be steered towards better outcomes. 
Minh stated that the political consultation is a sound mechanism for the two foreign ministries to promote mutual understanding, and the sharing of experience and coordination, suggesting it should be maintained in a regular manner.  The Cambodian official shared the view and noted that the consultation is efficient and useful for both sides amidst complicated developments in the region and the globe.-VNA
