However, the ministry said that despiteincreasing demand, the total potato planting area is decreasing dramatically.
Last year, the country’s potato area was19,700 hectares, equivalent to one-fifth of the area at the peak time, turningout an output of 313,000 tonnes.
The ministry aims to raise the figure to30,000 hectares in the next five years.-VNA
