Vietnam, US strengthen trade cooperation

US President Barack Obama and his government recognise the importance of relations with Vietnam, a relationship that has been built on mutual respect and common interests, a US trade official has said.

Meeting with the press in Hanoi on November 15,US Under Secretary of International Trade, Francisco Sanchez, who isvisiting Vietnam from November 13-16, said that this is his thirdvisit to the country in the last 20 months.

Thevisit reveals the commitment of President Obama and the US Government tostrengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, especiallyin trade, he said.

The official went on to say that histour to Indonesia and Vietnam marks the development of trade tiesbetween the US and ASEAN countries.

It is alsoto promote long-lasting relationships and trade commitments by creating aforum to discuss economic cooperation prospects and a foundation forcooperation.

Representatives of some US groups andcompanies said the visit is to seek trade opportunities and boostinvestment in infrastructure projects relating to energy, includingcivil nuclear energy, aviation, environmental technology, architecture,construction and engineering.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
