Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation with Sudan

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has told Sudanese Ambassador Sayed Altayeb Ahmad that Vietnam is keen on boosting ties with Sudan and hopes that the two sides can further promote cooperation in all fields for their mutual benefit.

Meeting thenewly-accredited Sudanese ambassador on March 4 in Hanoi, PM Dungsuggested that Vietnam and Sudan step up their partnership inmajor fields including economics, trade, investment and rice production.

The PM said he hopes the two sides will continue their close coordination in the United Nations arena.

Expressing his belief that the diplomat will make positivecontributions to the development of bilateral ties between the twocountries, he affirmed that the Vietnamese government as well asministries and sectors will offer all possible support for him duringhis tenure.

In reply, Ambassador Ahmad lauded the socio-economic development that Vietnam has achieved over the past years.

He noted that in April 4, the Vietnam-Sudan Joint Committee will beheld to speed up bilateral cooperation, especially in economics, tradeand investment.

Vietnamese enterprises are welcomedin Sudan, he said, adding that he will do his utmost to work withthe Vietnamese side to beef up cooperation between the two countries.-VNA
