Phnom Penh (VNA)♉ – Medical workers from the Ho Chi Minh City Charity Association, donors,and authorities in Koh Khsach Tonlea commune, Sa'Ang district, Cambodia’sKandal province on June 17 gave free medical check-ups and medicines for about800 local people.

Vietnamese andCambodian volunteers joined in interpreting and logistic work to support thedoctors. Le Thanh Hop, amember of the Ho Chi Minh City Charity Association, said that the association launched its health care programme eight years ago and this is thethird time its medical team has traveled to Cambodia.

From the beginning of this year, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, social charity organisations, agencies, andunits in Vietnam have sent medical groups and volunteer doctors to visitand provide free medical check-ups for people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodiaand those from other ethnic groups as well as Cambodian nationals.

🎉 As the costof medical services is quite high compared to the average income in thecountry, such charity activities are practical and useful, showing solidarityand friendship between Vietnam andCambodia./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
