Paris (VNA) – An honorary consular office of Vietnamไ officially opened in Monaco on A🎉pril 21.

The event saw the attendance of Jacques Boisson, Secretary of State of Prince Albert II of Monaco, Foreign Minister Gilles Tonelli and Archbishop Bernard Barsi of Monaco, among others. At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to France and Monaco Nguyen Ngoc Son handed over the decision appointing Vietnam’s honorary consul in Monaco to Roland de Rechniewski.
In his speech, the ambassador expressed his pleasure at the development of the relations between Vietnam and Monaco since the two countries established diplomatic ties in November 2007. He congratulated Roland de Rechniewski on his appointment as Vietnam’s honorary consul in Monaco by the Vietnamese Government, wishing the honorary consul promote his role, contributing to the two countries’ cooperation .  Ambassador repeated the invitation of Vietnamese leaders to invite Prince Albert II to visit Vietnam again.
Honorary Consul Roland de Rechniewski said he will do his utmost to further boost bilateral relations, particularly in encouraging Monaco’s firms to invest in Vietnam. Over the years, the two countries have variously worked together in the field of oceanography, especially since Vietnam’s Nha Trang Museum and Monaco’s Oceanography Museum signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2012. Roland de Rechniewski, born in 1960, is an engineer and leader of Grand Tour, a prestigious tourist transportation company in Monaco.-VNA
