Hai Phong (VNA) – The third meeting of the APEC Bus🎐iness Advisory C📖ouncil (ABAC III), slated to take place in Hai Phong from July 15 to 18, is expected to offer opportunities for the northern city to promote its image to global partners.

A highlight of the meeting is the investment promotion conference themed “Hai Phong – a strategic destination in the new era,” which will showcase the investment environment of Vietnam and Hai Phong in particular. The conference is expected to draw around 1,000 delegates, including investors from the 21 APEC economies and Hai Phong’s international partners.
Le Trung Kien, head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, said that the conference is a significant milestone for the city to present its new development space, investment incentives, and key economic models to the international business community. It also aims to foster links between local enterprises and global investors, helping Hai Phong position itself as an industrial and logistics hub of the northern region. Notably, six memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be signed in the fields of infrastructure and urban development. In addition, Hai Phong will grant investment licences to 23 major projects with a total registered capital of approximately 15 billion USD.
According to Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ABAC III provides a unique platform to introduce Hai Phong’s cultural legacy, scenic attractions, and traditional arts to business leaders from the region and beyond. Apart from an art programme featuring traditional Vietnamese music and dance, there will be tours of Chu Dau Pottery Village in Thai Tan commune, one of Vietnam’s historic ceramic craft centres, Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Archipelago. Hai Phong and Hai Duong have been merged to form an expanded Hai Phong city under the reorganisation of administrative units./.
