Andorra, one of the smallest nations in Europe, is interested in boosting relations with all countries across the globe, including Vietnam.
Co-prince of Andorra and President of France Francois Hollande made the statement at a reception in Paris on October 19 for Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son who presented credentials to him.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Son said the relationship between Vietnam and Andorra has developed strongly over the years and hoped the ties would expand in the future.
Earlier, on May 21, the Vietnamese diplomat handed over his credentials to Andora’s other Co-prince, Bishop of Urgell Joan-Enric Vives Sicilia.
The Principality of Andorra is a sovereign nation located in the eastern Pyrenees Mountains and bordered by France and Spain, with the Spanish/Roman Catholic Bishop of Urgell and the President of France being its Co-princes.
The country has a population of 84,000 and a per capita GDP of about 46,000 USD per year. Its main sources of income are tourism and banking.
Vietnam and Andorra established diplomatic ties in 2007. Vietnam Day was organised in Andorra for the first time in 2014.-VNA
