Moscow (VNA) – ꦬHead of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai on September 14 visited the Ho Chi Minh Institute of Saint Petersburg University as part of her visit to Russia.
Founded in 2010, the institute is a joint project between Saint Petersburg University and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (NPA), said Director of the institute Prof. Vladimir Kolotov.
Over the past six years, the two sides have worked together to organise various workshops on President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, the outcomes of which were collated into a book published in Russian and Vietnamese.
The institute has conducted studies on Vietnam’s politics, economy, history and culture, and trained students, while seeking ways to expand cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, he said.
The institute is teaming up with the NPA and other partners in Vietnam to organise the first-ever exhibition on Vietnamese culture at the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest museums worldwide, on May 19, 2019, according to Prof. Kolotov.
Mai described the institute as a bridge for the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.
She promised to exert all-out efforts to support the exhibition.
The same day, Mai met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in St. Petersburg.

Vietnamese students in Russia hosted a cultural event, called “Hello Vietnam”, to promote their country’s landscapes and people among international friends at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
Some 200 photos depicting Vietnam- Russia relations as well as Vietnamese history, culture, landscapes and cuisine are being on display at an exhibition held in Russia from September 1-6.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev emphasised the resolve to enhance the countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership during talks in Moscow.
Addressing the meeting, Party General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at meeting a large number of Vietnamese living and working in the RoK, acknowledging and appreciating their efforts in contributing to the growing Vietnam–RoK partnership.
He also welcomed the “Vietnam Private Sector Panorama” as a platform for dialogue, awareness-raising, and inspiring a wealth-creation movement, emphasising that it must deliver tangible results.
During a meeting on August 10 in Seoul with 100 representatives from the RoK’s intellectuals, associations, people’s organisations, businesses, and non-governmental organisations operating in Vietnam, Party General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude to Korean friendship, economic, cultural associations, universities, research institutes, individuals, and NGOs for their significant contributions to nurturing the Vietnam–RoK relationship.
