Indonesian airport operator, Angkasa Pura II (AP2), is finalising its plan to expand operation overseas, according to AP2 President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian airport operator, Angkasa Pura II (AP2), is finalising its plan to expandoperation overseas, according to AP2 President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.
He told the press onOctober 28 that the company is eyeing a number of potential airports in severalAfrican countries, as well as exploring opportunities to manage airports in ASEANmember countries like Thailand.
AP2 is also selecting world-class operators to join the company in developingand managing Kualanamu International Airport in North Sumatra, Awaluddin said,adding that the collaborationof AP2 with strategic partners at Kualanamu Airport is expected to increaseinternational and domestic passengers to 20 million passengers in the next fiveyears.
The company manages 19 airports inIndonesia, including Soekarno-Hatta, one of the busiest airports in the world.Next year, it will manage 20 airports with the addition of the Great GeneralSoedirman Airport in Purbalingga, West Java, currently under construction.
This year, AP2 allocated 11 trillion Rp (785.71 million USD) todeveloping several airports, mostly for Soekarno – Hattaairport expansion./.
