Japanese household items supplier Daiso will be investing 1 billion RM (211.4 million USD) to build its largest global distribution centre (GDC) in Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia next year, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported on October 5.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - Japanesehousehold items supplier Daiso will be investing 1 billion RM (211.4 millionUSD) to build its largest global distribution centre (GDC) in Port Klang,Selangor, Malaysia next year, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported on October5.
🌳 The GDC will be Daiso’s second international hub after China.
Daiso Malaysia Group SdnBhd chairman Tan Sri Khairul Adib Abd Rahman said the GDC will function as aglobal distribution hub for Daiso to launch logistics operations for the entryof Daiso’s products from Japan and China, including distribution to 22countries in Asia and the Middle East. At the signingceremony of a collaborative agreement to develop the GDC between Daiso Malaysiaand Kajima-Suncon, Khairul Adib said that construction of the GDC isexpected to commence in May 2024 and be completed in May 2026. Itis scheduled to be operational in January 2027. According to KhairulAdib, the cooperation between Daiso Malaysia and Kajima-Suncon isevidence of the company’s transformative journey to increase the availabilityof Daiso products in the region./.
