Mexican President vows to tighten ties with Vietnam
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has committed to continue intensifying multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially after the two countries sign and ratify the CPTPP.

Mexico City (VNA) – Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has committedto continue intensifying multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especiallyafter the two countries sign and ratify the Comprehensive and ProgressiveAgreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Theleader made the pledge when receiving a letter of credentials presented byVietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoai Duong in Mexico City on May 7.
Hespoke highly of the achievements Vietnam has gained in more than 30 years ofrenewal, while stressing huge potential for bilateral cooperation.
ThePresident also showed his belief that Ambassador Duong will have a successfulworking tenure in Mexico.
Forhis part, the Vietnamese Ambassador vowed to do his utmost to foster thefriendship and multi-faceted collaboration between Vietnam and Mexico.
Hesaid he believes that the multi-faceted cooperation will grow further, based onthe existing good relations, particularly since the meeting between thePresidents of the two countries within the framework of the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week in Vietnam’s Da Nang City in November 2017 and after the twocountries sign and ratify the CPTPP.
Vietnamand Mexico set up diplomatic ties on May 19, 1975. Two-way trade has enjoyed anaverage annual growth of around 10 percent, standing at over 5 billion USD in2017.-VNA
