PM orders probe, support after deadly truck crash in Quang Tri

Hanoi (VNA) 🌃– Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, on behalf of the Prime Minister, signed a dispatch on September 17 ordering response to a deadly road accident in the central province of Quang Tri.
At 7:50 am on September 17, a truck bearing license plate 37C-587.63 crashed near Tan Long market in Lao Bao commune, Quang Tri province, leaving three dead and injuring seven others.
Upon receiving the news, the Prime Minister sent condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a swift recovery. He instructed provincial authorities, police and medical units to respond immediately at the scene.
The Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee, who also heads the provincial Traffic Safety Board, was asked to ensure the best possible medical care and minimise further loss of life or property. Authorities must visit and support the victims and families of the deceased.
The PM called for an urgent a meeting with relevant agencies to fix shortcomings and clarify both direct and indirect causes behind the crash.
Additional tasks were also assigned to the chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to prevent similar incidents./.
The Government leader instructed the Chairperson of the Ha Tinh People’s Committee, who also heads the provincial traffic safety committee, to mobilise all necessary medical resources to treat the injured and minimise loss of life and property.
