Thailand launches campaign to boost tourism in 55 cities

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched the Amazing Thailand Go Local campaign, in a bid to generate at least 10 billion THB in revenue for grassroots economies.

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand haslaunched the Amazing Thailand Go Local campaign, in a bid to generate at least10 billion THB in revenue for grassroots economies. 

The campaign is divided into seven activities, consisting of"Enjoy Local" to promote local products and services through arewards programme, "SET in the Local" to stimulate the MICE industry incommunities, "Local Link" to subsidise food for tours in the targetcities, "Eat Local" to promote food, "Our Local" to promotecultural heritage, "Local Heroes" to develop tourism personnel, and"Local Strength" to boost cooperation between government agencies andthe private sector. 

The Thai Cabinet has also approved tax incentives for the tourism sectorin the 55 cities.-VNA
