Thanh Hoa (VNA) – A total of 60 collectives and 40 individuals were honoured with certificates of merit for their outstanding contributions to the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and sub-standard houses in the central province of Thanh Hoa, at a programme to review the campaign organised by the provincial Party Committee on August 18.
Addressing the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh stressed that in recent years, efforts to build houses for poor households, policy families, and those facing housing difficulties have been consistently focused and effectively implemented by the provincial Party Committee, the Fatherland Front’s committee, and authorities.

The elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality is an ongoing and important political task, he stated, calling on the provincial Party committee, Fatherland Front’s committee, and authorities, and socio-political organisations, to perform this work continuously, with clearly defined responsibilities for relevant agencies, units, collectives, individuals, and heads.
🐎 So far, Thanh Hoa has completed and put into use 14,780 houses, including 10.609 newly-built ones and 4,171 repaired houses, achieving 100% of the planned target./.
As of June 28, a total of 264,522 dilapidated and makeshift houses have been eliminated nationwide through support programmes. Of these, 229,328 houses have been completed and handed over to beneficiaries, contributing significantly to improved living conditions for disadvantaged households across the country.
Authorities credit the success to wide-ranging cooperation among government bodies, mass organisations, communities, and beneficiaries themselves. The programme continues to reflect the country’s commitment to “leaving no one behind”.
