Vientiane (VNA) – A high-ranking delegation ofHanoi led by Secretary of the municipal Committee of the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) Hoang Trung Hai paid courtesy calls to leaders of the LaoPeople’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the State, the National Assembly and theGovernment of Laos on November 24.

The Hanoi delegation is paying a working visitto Laos at the invitation of Secretary of the Vientiane LPRP Committee andMayor of the Lao capital city Sinlavong Khutphaythoune.

Welcoming the visit, LPRP General Secretary andPresident of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his delight at Vietnam’s recentdevelopment achievements, congratulating the country on the successful APECEconomic Leaders’ Week and APEC Year 2017.

Laos considers Vietnam’s successes as its own,he emphasised, noting that the respectable development achievements of bothLaos and Vietnam is prerequisites for them to tighten the traditional fraternaland close-knit relations.

He said the CPV and the LPRP have closelycoordinated to effectively realise their high-level agreements as well ascooperation agreements between the two Governments, thus contributing to eachcountry’s stability and development along with peace, stability, cooperationand development in the region and the world.

The host leader appreciated the huge andeffective support and assistance that the Vietnamese Party, State and peoplehave given to his country throughout history. The Lao Party, State and peoplewill join their Vietnamese counterparts to nurture the countries’ specialsolidarity in all fields.

He also asked Vientiane and Hanoi capitals toincrease sharing information and experience and cooperate more strongly in thespheres that both are interested in such as infrastructure building, urbanmanagement, trade, tourism, and human resources development.

♛[PM: Vietnam always treasures special ties with Laos]

At another meeting, Chairwoman of the LaoNational Assembly Pany Yathotou considered the Hanoi delegation’s visit importantamong activities marking 55 years of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40 yearsof the signing of the countries’ Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 2017.

She applauded the recent outcomes of the twocapital cities’ cooperation and thanked Hanoi for supporting Vientiane over thepast years.

Talking to the Hanoi officials, Lao PrimeMinister Thongloun Sisoulith said there remains huge potential for Vietnam andLaos to promote their cooperation in economy, investment and trade.Particularly, there are numerous areas in which Vientiane and Hanoi can supporteach other.

He expressed his hope that Hanoi will step upexchanging development experience with Vientiane in infrastructureconstruction, urban management, and educational, cultural and social affairs.

At the meetings, Secretary of the Hanoi PartyCommittee Hoang Trung Hai said he hopes the Lao leaders will create morefavourable conditions for the two capitals to expand and enhance cooperation inthe fields that match both sides’ demand and potential, especially in urbanconstruction and management, investment, trade, tourism, education-training,and human resources development.

Vietnam, including Hanoi, will exert everyeffort to together with the Lao Party, State and people reinforce the countries’special solidarity – a priceless asset of both nations – in all aspects in asubstantive and effective manner, he affirmed.-VNA
