Hanoi (VNA) 𓂃– Vietnam always attaches importance to further developing friendship and cooperation with Denmark, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh told newly appointed Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Charlotte Laursen.
During his reception for the diplomat in Hanoi on February 25, Minh expressed his joy at the fruitful development of the Vietnam-Denmark comprehensive partnership.
The host spoke highly of the recent signing of a joint action plan in 2016, which aimed to accelerate bilateral cooperation in politics-diplomacy, economics, environment, education-training and culture.
He thanked the Danish Government for its provision of ODA assistance to Vietnam, and asked for closer links between the embassy and Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities, towards deepening bilateral ties in all fields.
Ambassador Charlotte Laursen said her country wishes to further ties with Vietnam – one of the ten prioritised partners in Denmark’s Growth Strategy.
She pledged to work closely with the Vietnamese foreign ministry and other agencies to enhance the efficiency of joint projects with Vietnam in the future, especially in climate change adaptation, environment, energy and green growth.
The guest also underlined the need to foster connection between Vietnamese and Danish enterprises in order to take advantage of benefits of the upcoming Vietnam-EU free trade agreement.
The two sides should coordinate in organising events to promote mutual understanding and cooperation on the occasion of the 45 th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, he added.-VNA
