Hanoi (VNA) ꦇ– Hanoi plans to launch and inaugurate nine projects on August 19 to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945-2025).

The capital city’s Management Board for technical infrastructure and agricultural projects will inaugurate the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant in Thanh Liet ward, with an investment of 11.197 trillion VND (425.98 million USD) and a capacity of 270,000 cubic meters per day. Trial operations finished on May 31. The plant aims to improve sanitation and ecosystems in urban areas around the To Lich, Nhue, and Lu river basins, supporting sustainable development. Eight other projects start on August 19, including the road linking Gia Binh Airport in Bac Ninh to Hanoi, worth about 42 trillion VND, to enhance airport operations and urban development.
Construction of the Van Phuc Bridge and connecting road to National Highway 32 in Phuc Tho district will begin, with 3.444 trillion VND investment, completing transport infrastructure and boosting growth in Hanoi and neighbouring provinces. Compensation and resettlement works for the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway will develop resettlement areas and infrastructure in Dong Anh district. Similarly, resettlement for the North–South high-speed railway will build infrastructure on a 2.7-hectare site in Ngoc Hoi commune. Component 3 of the Ngoc Hoi Bridge and approach roads project, costing 10.197 trillion VND, will complete Ring Road 3.5, connecting to Hung Yen Province and Hanoi’s road system. This will ease traffic on major routes and bridges, improve connectivity, and support urbanization and eco-tourism.
The Smart City project in Vinh Thanh commune, with 94.348 trillion VND investment, will create a modern urban area with full technical and social infrastructure, including financial centres, parks, and residences. The Viettel Research and Development Centre (6.9 trillion VND) in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will develop high-tech dual-use military and civilian products, supporting Viettel’s industrial and defence strategy. Finally, the Hanoi High-Tech Biological Park project, investing 7.4 trillion VND in Thuong Cat ward, will build infrastructure for the biological high-tech zone, approved by the Prime Minister in September 2024, with phased construction starting after permits were issued in August 2025./.
