Party leader visits High Command of Hanoi capital city
Security-defence tasks are of paramount importance for the capital city of Hanoi, a major political, economic and cultural hub and also the heart of the entire nation, the Party leader has said.

Hanoi (VNA)🌃 – Security-defence tasks are of paramount importance for the capital city of Hanoi, a major political, economic and cultural hub and also the heart of the entire nation, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has said.
The leader, who is also the Secretary of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during his visit to the High Command of the Hanoi capital city on the first day of the New Year 2016.
Informing the Party chief on the High Command’s performance, Commander Nguyen Doan Anh said the High Command has proactively advised local authorities on the implementation of defence-military missions, maintained combat readiness, and had a firm grasp of the local situation.
The unit has effectively coordinated with other forces to ensure the absolute safety of critical political events and major anniversaries as well as national security, social order and safety, and defence mission accomplishment, the Major General noted.
It has also played an active role in natural disaster prevention and mitigation as well as search and rescue activities, helping to minimise property losses and deaths, he added.
Applauding the High Command’s excellent achievements, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong underlined that a number of important events are one the horizon such as the 12 th National Party Congress and the National Assembly and all-level People’s Council elections.
He asked Hanoi’s armed forces to be fully aware of the significance of national protection, which request them to firmly grasp the real situation and devise timely, appropriate and wise response measures.
The forces must completely obey the direction and leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, ultimately guaranteeing people’s peaceful life and favourable conditions for development, he stressed.
He expressed his belief that local officers and soldiers will incessantly improve their political firmness, master the use of specialised equipment and techniques, and promote combat readiness, deserving the Party, State and people’s trust and contributing to the development and protection of the capital city and the nation.-VNA
Hanoi is expected to collect nearly 147 trillion VND (6.5 billion USD) for the State budget since the beginning of the year, completing 103 percent of the yearly target.
The credit growth of Hanoi reached 19.5 percent this year, more than 2 percentage points higher than the banking industry's goal, according to the municipal Statistics Office.
Hanoi will create the best possible conditions for overseas Vietnamese investors to run long-term business in the capital city, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son.

During a meeting on August 10 in Seoul with 100 representatives from the RoK’s intellectuals, associations, people’s organisations, businesses, and non-governmental organisations operating in Vietnam, Party General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude to Korean friendship, economic, cultural associations, universities, research institutes, individuals, and NGOs for their significant contributions to nurturing the Vietnam–RoK relationship.
