Vientiane (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos hosted a series of activities on August 25 to celebrate the 80th National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945–2025), reflecting the Vietnamese community's deep affection, pride, and gratitude towards the homeland.

At the embassy, officials, staff, and their families attended a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, joining together to sing the national anthem.

At Patouxay Square, embassy staff, expatriates, and students of Vietnam formed the number “80” to mark the historic anniversary. Against the vibrant backdrop of red ao dai and the national flag flying high, the scene became a powerful symbol of unity and national pride.

Vo Thi Kim Ngan, a seventh grader at the Nguyen Du Lao – Vietnamese Bilingual School, voiced her honour and pride in being a Vietnamese living in Laos, noting that she and her peers always feel connected to the homeland on such important occasions.

Sharing similar sentiments, Dinh Ngoc Loan, a Vietnamese working in Vientiane, said that despite living far from the homeland, joining the community in the commemorations gave her a strong sense of belonging, as though she were in Vietnam.
